About Sell to Camera
A blog for business professionals speaking to camera
The Sell to Camera blog is about helping business professionals with presentation experience make the move to web video, addressing the concerns many feel when first asked to speak directly into a video camera’s unblinking eye.
For Sell to Camera I invested in a Full-HD camera and professional lights usable in a typical office environment. I recorded some introductory videos, edited those using Sony Vegas and then rendered to H.264 format with Sorenson Squeeze.
So, who’s Andrew Biss?
Hi, I’m Andrew Biss: Tech Presenting curator, founder of strategy consultancy ISV Focus and an experienced software industry executive.
I started my software industry career working as a developer in the financial services sector. A stint in consulting followed, where I championed using automated software tools to create business applications. I later held VP-level strategy, marketing and engineering positions at software tool companies in the UK, US, France and Germany.
At strategy consultancy ISV Focus I help independent software vendors (ISVs) respond to new opportunities. I apply fresh thinking to conjure practical ideas and solutions.
I’ve given hundreds of technical presentations at all levels in the software industry and have learned that although getting audiences to take action’s hard, it’s not impossible. I share my experience by curating the best tips and tricks, examples and resources from the web at Tech Presenting.
Originally from London in the UK, I moved to Germany in 2000 and now live near Düsseldorf.
My personal blog is Andrew-Biss.com.
